Economic impact of arts and culture on the rise

(Pictured) September 30th, ProArt President, Ivan Habel, Victoria Foundation CEO Sandara Richardson, and CRD Arts Committee Chair, David Screech present the 2012 Greater Victoria Arts and Culture Sector Economic Activity Study, by Dr. Brock Smith, from the University of Victoria. The Study finds that the overall economic impact of the arts and culture in Greater Victoria is about $177 million. Arts organisations receive about $5 million in government support, from all 3 levels of government, according to the Victoria Foundation’s Vital signs report.
