Greater Victoria Regional Arts Awards returns to celebrate local artists

Victoria, Canada (August 30, 2021)—The fourth annual Greater Victoria Regional Arts Awards returns to celebrate and honour the diverse work of local artists and arts organizations from across the region over the last year.

A total of seven awards will be granted to local artists and organizations through the Professional Arts Alliance of Greater Victoria (ProArt) at the fourth annual regional arts awards ceremony in October. “After another challenging year, it’s amazing to see the incredible abundance of art that continues to be created by artists and arts organizations in greater Victoria” says ProArt Administrator Doug Jarvis, “It is important that we need to come together as a community to celebrate the resiliency and impact of local arts and culture.”

NOTE: The ProArt Awards Committee recognizes that this past year has been a challenging time for many artists and the arts and culture organizations that support them through their productions and programs. We encourage nominations for artists and organizations that met these challenges by expanding traditional formats by also engaging digital and online production methods and alternative ways of engaging with audiences and the communities that they support.
